Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT JOURNAL DO YOU USE?
After trying the Scribbles That Matter A5 notebook with dotted pages, I don't think I could ever use anything else. The paper is smooth, thick, and white. The dots are 5MM apart. And the adorable icons on the cover make me happy. It's my favorite!
WHAT PENS ARE BEST TO START?
For all of the black ink you see in my journal, I use the Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens. I draw my lines with sizes M and F, and I pre-plan my writing with size S. My daily writing is done with (my favorite) size XS. Maybe someday I will fall for fountain pens, too, but these have been a great start.
HOW CAN I ADD SOME COLOR?
The Tombow Dual Brush Markers in Bright Colors are awesome and don't bleed through decent paper! I also love the Staedtler Triplus Fineliners and have the 36-count set. I fill in details with a set of Staedtler Colored Pencils. My journal just comes to life with the colors, and it makes me happy.
WHAT DO THOSE NUMBERS MEAN AT THE TOP?
In my Daily Spread, I have twenty-four boxes numbered at the top from 1-24. This is my hourly Time Tracker! As I complete tasks listed just below, I fill in the color-coded hours above with the same color as the task. It helps me track where I'm spending my time and helps me see where I can make improvements.
WHAT DO THE SMILEY FACE AND HEART BARS REPRESENT?
It is so helpful to see how my day feels, and not just what I'm getting done. Thus, the smiley face bar tracks how I'm feeling emotionally that day, while the heart bar tracks how connected I feel to my husband. Both of these bar trackers are a snapshot of emotions!
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BULLET JOURNALING?
My first journal began in August 2016 and was promptly destroyed in a rain storm while camping two weeks later. Yes...tears were shed. My current Bullet Journal began in September 2016. At my current rate, I think I'll fit eight months into one journal. I still feel like a newbie but love learning!
